Ruffle'n Tuffle

Truthfully, I used to have a love/hate relationship with pants. As in, love those pants, too bad they'll look awful on me. Well, over time I just simply learned, after stalking countless pairs, I had to just try them on becaue it's absolutely about the cut and fabric. Personally, I need a little stretch because I am very curvy and non-stretchy pants just don't work. Also, it's way more comfortable. 

Can I 100% honest? I think off the shoulder anything is absolutely the most feminine, sexy thing for a woman to wear! Now that that has been declared {LOL}, I'll give you more on this outfit. I was so excited when I saw these pants on Eloquii. I saw similar pairs at straight sized stores and was sad each time I checked back on virtually all plus-size stores online or even in store and to my disappointment, they were not available! I was bummed! Then alas, Eloquii delivered! I bought them so quickly because I was deathly afraid they would sell out. I wanted to be extra, so I paired them with this ruffle off-the-shoulder top. I love the black and white ensemble so much that I'm sure I wear this combo a bit too much. {LOL}

Kawaii Prints

Typically, I don't mix prints. Although it can be cute, I just don't see it as a part of my personal style. However, during some research of looking for style inspiration,  I became inspired by the street style (very kawaii - cute in Japanese) looks of Tokyo. I love how ladies there play with so many textures, colors, and patterns. They just jump right into taking risks or perhaps, they don't view it as taking risks at all because it's their aesthetic. Something I'm striving to do more...not that I'm sure you'll see me in more mixed prints. (laughs!)

I definitely had fun with shooting this outfit and putting the look together. I challenge you to wear something you wouldn't normally and do it boldly! Life is short! :)

Modern Flare

Sometimes I'm my absolute worst critic. I almost deleted these photos! I looked at them once more, and was like, just post them. I'll let you be the judge. I really have to work on not over-thinking everything! LOL! 

This is an old top I paired with an old pair of bootcut/semi-flare jeans that I've had forever. I'm not big on peplums, however, I do like the contrast of the white collar against the black and since it's a pleated-peplum, it added a different spin to it. The boots are old and have what I like to call a goth-retro feel. Yes, I made that up. (laughs)
