Artsy Print

November 09, 2015 by Kaloni King

There was a time not long ago when I steered clear of prints.  Like, I was literally committed to solid colors. LOL! This particular print reminds me of artwork, this is what drew me to it. It looks as if someone could have painted this as a picture. However, it is called Ankara. This cloth skirt came from Ghana and was custom made there as well. Ankara prints are made all over and are more commonly seen in West African countries. My adornment for Ankara fabric developed pretty recently although I have always been familiar. Personally, I find that these fabrics are so versatile. And versatility is an important part of my wardrobe and life. (everything I paired the skirt with is old from my closet)

Classic Shirtdress

November 01, 2015 by Kaloni King

One thing in fashion that never fades are classy pieces. This shirtdress (similar here), although some may call a tunic, is definitely one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe right now. I love the midi-length of it and how effortless it is. It can be dressed up or down paired with some flats and a bucket bag. I just really love how the brightness of the blue pumps (old, similar here and here), the gold clutch (vintage), and the statement earrings (old) really just added an elegant touch to the cleanness of the white.

Pink Mod

October 25, 2015 by Kaloni King

When I first purchased this beautiful Carmakoma trench coat (sold out), I was not absolutely certain how I would style it. After purchasing this Eloquii dress, these grey booties, and this beautiful quilted Rebecca Minkoff bag, I knew I had my take on the perfect mod-inspired ensemble. I thought it was perfect post for Breast Cancer Awareness month as well.
